President Mnangagwa today met a delegation from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Trading (ADNOC), a leading diversified energy group owned by the United Arab Emirates’ Abu Dhabi government.

Discussions centred on possible areas of cooperation in the energy sector, given that the Middle East company is endowed with the product.

In an interview after meeting President Mnangagwa at State House this afternoon, ADNOC chief executive officer, Mr Ahmad Bin Thalith, said their meeting cemented cooperation between the UAE and Zimbabwe.

“The relationship between the UAE and Zimbabwe is a unique one,” he said.

“We are covering one sector of business, which is the supply of refined products into Zimbabwe.

“We want to increase that collaboration.”

ADNOC Trading is the world’s 12th largest oil company by production.

As of 2021, the company boasted an oil production capacity exceeding 4 million barrels per day with plans to increase to 5 million by 2030.
