Apostolic sect leader, Ishmael Chokurongerwa, popularly known as Madzibaba Ishmael, has been convicted of one count of rape and impregnating a minor.

Initially, he was facing three counts of rape, but presiding Magistrate, Mrs Estere Chivasa, acquitted him on the other two counts, after she ruled that the two victims are adults and they consented to having sexual intercourse with him.

Presentencing enquiry is scheduled for tomorrow.

Madzibaba Ishmael was remanded in custody.
