CAPS United president Farai Jere has revealed that Warriors defender Isheanesu Mauchi will be heading to the Green Machine if his envisaged deal in South Africa collapses.

The lanky player, who has spent the past two seasons at Simba Bhora, is currently in South Africa trialing with an unnamed top-flight side.

But indications are that he could only be able to move down south during the midseason transfer window.

And before that, Makepekepe will be able to field one of the best young talents in the country with Jere saying the club has already prepared a contract for him.

“Indeed we have got a draft contract for Mauchi. But remember Mauchi also has got another opportunity in South Africa so that is where he is at the moment,” said Jere.

“When he comes back he’s coming to CAPS United if that fails to happen.

“This is where we are. We are doing our business quietly but we were very excited when we finished the deal with his handlers and we agreed on the terms and everything that is required but the player then gave us an excuse to say; no I’ve got a deal in South Africa if that deal goes through

I won’t be coming to CAPS United but if it fails the boy is definitely coming.”

If the deal goes through, Mauchi will be Makepekepe’s 13th signing this window as the Green Machine eyes a revival crusade in the 2026 season.
